I have the same hanging Problem with some Sparc Based Systems.
I least with a T5220.
This must be a Patch that changed something with the Services.
It's produces some strange behavior.
If you init 5 the Server you get the message to the console that the
system is shutting down the Services and you are logged out of the
console. But that's it

But the ssh connection stays online and you can use it.
I didn't wait for an hour if it eventually shuts down.
I used the SP to power off the Server.
I think we had the Problem with some other Sparc Based Systems too.

It's probably a Patch thats not in a Patch Cluster yet.
