Game Design in Object-Oriented Style: Data, Tests, Programs
14:00 Uhr – 16:00 Uhr: Viera K. Proulx (Northeastern University, Boston)
Abstract: We present a pedagogy for teaching introductory computing in 
object-oriented style that focuses on understanding of the design of 
classes of data and on systematic test-driven program design. To 
motivate students, their projects focus on the design of the engine for 
interactive games.
CV: Viera K. Proulx is a Professor of Computer Science at Northeastern 
University on Boston, Massachusetts. She has been working on research in 
informatics education for the past 20 years, she has published a number 
of papers in international conferences, focusing on the development of 
curriculum and supporting software for the introductory computing 
courses. She is a member of the IFIP Working Group 3.1 on Secondary 
Education, has organized an IFIP Working Conference Informatics, 
Mathematics, and ICT: a 'golden triangle', held at Northeastern 
University in June 2007, and has been a program chair for the ITiCSE 
(Information Technology in Computer Science Education) Conference in 
Portugal in June 2005.

Mathematik als Bookmark auf der privaten Homepage einzurichten, und in 
der laufenden Probephase eventuelle Probleme oder Maengel an Herrn Dr. 
Mayer (man.mayer at aon.at) zu melden. Mittelfristig sollte der Talk-Server 
die Zentrale Informationsquelle sind, wo alle math. Events Oesterreichs 
laufend aktuell und uebersichtlich aufgelistet zu finden sind.
