I am delighted to announce a VCEE special seminar featuring a talk by Chris
Wickens from oTree.

 

Chris Wickens is the creator and lead developer of oTree (otree.org)

About oTree: oTree is an open-source, Python-based platform for running
interactive experiments in the social sciences. Researchers use it to build
multiplayer games, markets, bargaining tasks, surveys, and quizzes that
participants complete in a web browser on any device. The same experiment
can be run in the lab, in the field, or online through platforms such as
Prolific, and oTree Studio offers a browser-based way to design experiments
with less coding. Since its introduction in the Journal of Behavioral and
Experimental Finance (Chen, Schonger & Wickens, 2016), oTree has become one
of the most widely used tools in experimental economics.

Title:  oTree 2026 update

Chris will talk about recent developments in oTree especially related to AI,
and their new platform that lets you build and run experiments without
coding or installing anything.
