Yes, that is what I remember too. They never managed to handle them properly.
Under what conditions is PCA downloading .jar instead of .zip? Because  
in that case, it's still PCA which asked for it. Maybe you could  
remove it or deprecate it, disabled unless it is explicitly asked for?

At this point, I have remarkably little time for that and it seems I  
am hitting every single existing LU bug, sometimes in different ways  
for added fun.
