That looks like the default file size, as it's what is on my system, and 
I've never installed an emulex card.

% ls -l /kernel/drv/emlxs.conf
-rw-r--r--   1 root     sys         8988 Jun 16  2009 /kernel/drv/emlxs.conf

% head -1 /etc/release
                       Solaris 10 10/09 s10s_u8wos_08a SPARC

Here's where it got that info, so some script or something changed the 
contents of the file without updating the package info:

% grep /kernel/drv/emlxs.conf /var/sadm/install/contents
/kernel/drv/emlxs.conf e emlxsconf 0644 root sys 9101 55575 1245143858 
SUNWemlxs
