The results you reported and your setup look absolutely fine.

I'm stumped. In your first message you show it failing with:

   ...
   Trying https://sunsolve.sun.com/ (10/10)
   Failed

Besides the call to wget, there's not much code between these two lines, 
and nothing which would cause the failure. Three more things to try:

Please run the same command with the current development release of pca 
- it might show some extra information after "Failed".

If you have a second wget binary available (maybe /usr/sfw/bin/wget), 
please try to use that instead, and see if the result is the same.

Send me output of "truss -vf" of the problematic pca command (without 
--debug) by e-mail. Maybe I can spot something.
