[pca] openSolaris patching?

I did some research yesterday. The new openSolaris distribution seems to
have switched to a new packaging format more similar to the typical Linux
distribution packaging.

Rather than installing packages, and then layering patches on top of them
that provide updates to multiple packages, every package is versioned and
updates are performed by installing a newer version of each package. To
upgrade an existing system to the latest and greatest versions,
theoretically it should be as simple as "pkg image-update"...

Perhaps the pain, horror and frustration of Solaris patching will become an
un-fond memory :)...
