Jamen, seems like you may be hitting this issue:  Sun Alert 236641,
BugID 6590187
(http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-66-236641-1).  

Your problem sounds like the package information in the contents file
are listing /var/sadm/pkg as a directory, but you instead have a
symlink.  This is an issue described in the alert.  There example
references /etc/mail/sendmail.cf but it applies to anything that has
changed file types since installation, e.g. a directory is now a
symlink.
