I share your pain; what is the point of having included dependency
information for patches if you have to manually trudge through READMEs?

I generally review all of the README's before deploying patches anyway, if
I particularly care about the "complete fix" for the described problem I
double check that the necessary patches will be installed, if it doesn't
look particularly important I don't bother.
