*"Rationality of special values of /L/**-functions"*

/Abstract:/

My habilitation thesis deals with two major subjects: "automorphic

cohomology" and "special values of /L/-functions". As a (paradigmatic)

example, in this talk, I will present one of my results on special values

of /L/-functions. /L/-functions are generalizations of the Riemannian

?-function. Following this guideline, I will start off introducing and

motivating some of the relevant questions associated with the

?-function. Finally, I will present a general rationality result for

special values of /L/-functions attached to the general linear group 
/GL(n)/.
