/_Abstract:_////The recurrent theme of this talk is the analysis of 
high-dimensional data in one way or the other.
First, some aspects of phase retrieval shall be discussed, a problem 
that usually refers to high-dimensional
signal reconstruction from a collection of magnitudes of rank-one 
projections.
We develop an algorithm for signal reconstruction from magnitudes of 
higher rank projections as long as
  the ambient dimension does not exceed a few hundred. In the recent 
literature,
the question is raised if such magnitudes carry more information than 
with rank-one.
We argue that they do by providing a rank-two example that enables 
reconstruction from
  fewer measurements than with rank-one. Second, we present a 
reconstruction algorithm without
  any restrictions on the ambient dimension provided the signal has only 
few dominating nonzero entries.
Third, some recent results on the analysis of high-dimensional data 
using wavelets on data-defined manifolds are discussed./
