for the Navier-Stokes-Fourier system"*

Abstract:

We introduce a concept of weak solution based on Second law of 
thermodynamics for the full Navier-Stokes-Fourier system describing the 
motion of a general viscous, compressible, and heat-conducting fluid 
confined to a bounded spatial domain with energetically insulating 
boundary. We show that the weak solutions comply with the principle of 
weak strong uniqueness, meaning they coincide with the strong solution 
emanating from the same initial data as long as the latter exists.
