„The role of the symmetrization arguments in considering geometric or 
functional inequalities“

16:30 Uhr: Wissenschaftlicher Vortrag: „On the correlation conjecture in 
the plane“
Abstract: I will describe the history and the known results about the 
correlation conjecture, which states that the correlation ratio between 
two convex symmetric sets in R^n is always bigger than one; in 
particular, the correlation has been proved only in the two-dimensional 
case or in some special situations. Then, I will show a very recent 
simple geometric proof of a (sightly stronger) result in the plane. 
(collaboration with A. Figalli, F.Maggi).
