Dear colleagues,
I would be greatful if you could circulate this announcement among
possible candidates:
The Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology, University of
Cologne, is offering a PhD position in the interdisciplinary research
project "Chinese immigration law and policy reforms: perspectives of
lawmakers, administrators and immigrants". The position is for 3 years,
starting on 1st June 2015. Application deadline is March 15, 2015.
Applicants should have a completed outstanding Master’s (or equivalent)
degree in Cultural and Social Anthropology or Chinese Studies, must be
fluent in English and Chinese, and should have a research idea.

The project forms part of the larger research co-operation of European
and Chinese universities focusing on the topic of "Immigration and the
Transformation of Chinese Society". The Faculty of Humanities at Leiden
University will soon advertise a fulltime postdoctoral position on
immigration in contemporary China, that will be available at:
