SinoNet: Chinesisch-Lernkalender in Konfuzius-Instituten

Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,

China International Press (Wuzhou chubanshe) druckt gerade einen Chinesisch-Lernkalender für 2008. Am 30. November sollen die ersten Exemplare fertig sein. Der Kalender sollte via Hanban an alle Konfuzius-Institute verteilt werden. Leider sind wir diesmal ziemlich spät dran. Wir bitten deshalb Freunde, die von Beijing aus Anfang Dezember nach Europa fliegen, einige Exemplare mitzunehmen, und sie beim naechsten Konfuzius-Institut abzugeben. Wer fünf Kalender mitnimmt, bekommt einen gratis. Der Preis in China ist 50 Yuan für einen Kalender. Die Konfuzius-Institute können den Kalender um 60 Yuan (6 Euro) verkaufen. Wenn die Konfuzius-Institute und die Käufer Bedarf zeigen, bekommen sie nächstes Jahr über Hanban auf "normalem" Weg neue Kalender für 2009. Die Institute können nächstes Jahr neue Kalender bestellen und mit den heuer verkauften abrechnen.

Hier ist eine kurze Beschreibung des Kalenders auf Englisch:

The calendar is a combination of learning tools. All dates and phrases in Chinese characters are transliterated in Hanyu Pinyin. The phrases on top of each page form dialogues, which can go on for weeks, encouraging you to keep looking back and forth in time. Below the phrase of the day is the (international Gregorian calendar) date, written in Chinese characters and English. The vocabulary explanations below the date explain and illustrate
certain words in the phrases, as well as words connected to Chinese holidays and traditions. The space at the bottom of each page contains the lunar date and the (modern) day of the week. Traditional (and some modern) festivals, terms of the year and anniversaries are also indicated here. This is the
main structure.

Every day, there are changes in this structure to challenge you to get used to reading Chinese. The English name of the day of the week is omitted on every second day. It's like this: Monday - Xingqi'èr - Wednesday - Xingqisì - Friday - Xingqiliù - Sunday - Xingqiyi - Tuesday, and so on. And in the second half of every month, the phrase of the day appears in Chinese only, along with the (modern) date. If you want the English translation, you have to turn the page and look two days ahead. This means that the phrases and the dates for the last two days of the year remain untranslated and pose an additional bonus challenge.

The calendars will be sold by the Confucius Institutes on a trial basis. If you are interested in the Calendar, ask Confucius Institutes near you if they have them. The price in China is 50 RMB. For this trial issue, the
price of the calendar at the Confucius Institute will be only 60 RMB (approx. 8 US$).
