[Pluslucis] Veranstaltungshinweis

Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,

gerne gebe ich folgende Veranstaltungshinweise an Sie weiter:

The first is the "Wheel of Science" and will take place on Monday 19th of May: https://indico.cern.ch/event/1534861/
It includes a 20' ride on the Riesenrad discussing about particle physics and the role of accelerators/detectors in exploring the shortest scales of nature. The event also includes screening in the Planetarium and public lectures. Moreover, the Physikmobil.at<http://physikmobil.at/>will offer hands-on activities for the registered students. Registration is free but mandatory.

The second is the public event "The Higgs boson and our life" on Tuesday 20th of May in the Austrian National Library:https://indico.cern.ch/event/1538034/
The event features a public talk by CERN's DG followed by a panel discussion between F.Gianotti, U. Diebold (Vice President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences) and V. Rigler (founder of AGORA European Grean Deal) moderated by Florian Aigner. A network cocktail reception will follow. Again registration is free but mandatory.

Thirdly, there will be an event as part of the "Pint of Science" as well as a music concert in the MusikVerein with a selection of musical pieces related to physics and inspired by the exploration of our cosmos. Tickets need to be booked online.
