Betreff: 2011 International Conference on Physics Education

We kindly invite you to participate in the GIREP-EPEC International
Conference for physics teachers, educators and researchers to be held at 
the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, *August 1-5, 2011*.

The topic of this year's conference is Physics Alive. This theme is
chosen to highlight the efforts in increasing student motivation in
Physics and teaching the lively and developing field of Physics in
school settings, as well as introducing Physics into a wider setting of
sciences and life.

In the spirit of our theme, the plenary talks will showcase Physics
Education research as a tool for making Physics alive to all students,
as well as provide a peek into the Physics of living things. We are
pleased to announce we have confirmed Wendy Adams, Carl Angell, Lynn
Bryan, Paul G. Hewitt, Cecilia Jarlskog, Walter Kutschera, Arttu
Luukanen, Dimitris Psillos, and Matti Weckström as our plenary speakers.
The list of topics will be updated on our website.

We welcome your contributions as oral presentations, poster
presentations, workshops and symposia. The proposals for these should be 
submitted via the abstract submission form on our website. *The closing 
date for abstract submission is April 15, 2011.*

*Early registration fee until May 31* is 325e (225e for students). There 
is a 50e discount for Girep and EPS members. Accommodation can also be 
reserved via the registration form on our website.
