Jahrhundert intensiv erforscht. Trotzdem sind wegen der komplizierten Lautgeschichte viele Etymologien noch umstritten, oder es gibt mehrere wetteifernde Herkunftshypothesen (z.B. könnte ung. orvos ‘Arzt’ aus einem altererbten finnougrischen Wortstamm gebildet aber auch aus irgendeiner Turksprache entlehnt sein). Juni, werden ab 18:00 Uhr diverse aktuelle Publikationen <span style="font-size: 14.666667px;">aus den Disziplinen der Hungarologie, Fennistik und Finno-Ugristik, sprach-, literatur- und kulturwissenschaftlicher Natur, kurz vorgestellt. (Unter den sprachwissenschaftlichen Publikationen u.a. das große "Oxford Guide to the Uralic Languages" sowie die neue Monographie von Sampsa Holopainen und Santeri Junttila, "Die alten arischen und baltischen Lehnverben in den uralischen Sprachen".)
