<div><div style="margin: 0px; text-align: center; font-stretch: normal; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class=""><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class=""><span style="-webkit-font-kerning: none;" class="">The Centre for Translation Studies seeks to fill the position of a university assistant (prae doc) for the project “Extracting Terminological Concept Systems from Natural Language Text”. </span></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial; min-height: 14px;" class=""><span style="font-kerning: none" class=""></span><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class="">PROJECT DESCRIPTION</div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class=""><span style="-webkit-font-kerning: none;" class="">Terminology extraction tools generally tend to extract isolated terms or concepts, but not their interrelations, with very few exceptions that extract one or two hierarchical relations. The project seeks to bring semantic and terminology technologies together for the benefit of improving automated terminology extraction. The resulting Text2TCS application automatically extracts hierarchical and semantic relations from text corpora to create a Terminological Concept System (TCS). It will rely on findings from ontology learning and machine learning. An automatically created TCS can foster cross-border communication in times of crisis, such as COVID-19, and help to avoid misunderstandings due to terminological consistency.</span></div><div style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial; min-height: 14px;" class=""><span style="font-kerning: none" class=""></span><br class=""></div><div style="margin: 0px; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Arial;" class="">RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS</div>
