Evidence from Closest Conjunct Agreement<br class=""></b><br class="">Conjunction agreement in Slovenian and Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian allow more agreement options than many of us are comfortable with. One approach in the literature proposes that conjunction agreement is sensitive to linear order, while most grammatical operations are not (Marušič, Nevins, Badecker 2015). The other approach maintains a linear-order-free grammar and proposes that the agreement options result from different orders of operations in syntax (Murphy and Puškar 2018).
