I am writing to invite you to join us for Block 3 of the workshop series “Linguistics Meets ChatGPT: From Prompt to Theory”.

May 21: WS 5 – Cross-Linguistic Prompting and Multilingual Modeling
Prompt translation versus language-particular prompting? Language mixing in prompts? How does ChatGPT represent languages if there are no typological parameters?

May 22: WS 6 – Sociolinguistics and Style in the Machine
Can ChatGPT model register, politeness, or identity? Do the outcomes of polite and impolite prompting differ?

Special topic of Block 3:
The machine as a text writer: AI-generated vs. human-written texts, differences, and how they arise

Online | May 21–22, 2026 | 12:00–15:00 CEST on both days

The workshops can be attended as a block or separately.
Registration is open until May 20, 2026.
