Dear all,
We are writing to let you know about ETHL 2026!
The Edinburgh Theoretical Historical Linguistics (ETHL) Summer School
will run from 22–26 June 2026 at the University of Edinburgh.
Our curriculum is delivered by leading theoretical historical linguists
and provides a crash course in the _what_ and _why_ of theoretical
historical linguistics, as well as a comprehensive overview of this
emerging discipline from both theoretical and historical perspectives.
The ETHL Summer School brings together research in historical syntax,
phonology, and morphology to address the relationship between all
modules of grammar and diachronic change. Classes will be led by Theresa
Biberauer, Anne Breitbarth, Andrea Calabrese, Mark Hale, Patrick
Honeybone, Benjamin Molineaux, and Ruth Kramer.
Dates: 22-26 June 2026
Location: University of Edinburgh
Focus: Historical Linguistics & Generative Theory
