Azra Hodžić-Kadić will present her current project “Jewish Linguistic Diversity in Vienna” with a special focus on Juhuri (Judeo-Tat), an endangered language traditionally spoken by Jews from the Caucasus. Based on extensive interviews and fieldwork, Azra will focus on the preservation of Juhuri in contemporary Vienna, and the role it plays in identity and the culture of memory. She will also discuss her larger project, which aims to archive and digitize Juhuri in Vienna, Frankfurt and other communities of Juhuri speakers.
