Dear all,
I recently found out about ANTLR - the Association of Nonbinary and Trans
Language Researchers - and had a zoom with one of their founders. They seem
to be doing really cool work and it turns out that they are looking for more
European members at the moment. I'm also organizing a reading group on
formal linguistics applied to topics specifically relevant for trans people
(e.g. grammatical gender features, pronouns, implicatures about gender)
which is going to be announced on their Discord (text me in case you want to
get involved in the reading group without ANTLR). See their call for members
below!

For all trans and non-binary language researchers: We are working to connect
trans and nonbinary language researchers to one another and to provide
resources for the language research community about trans and nonbinary
issues!
If you are interested in participating in this community, see our website
<https://translinguists.org/> translinguists.org and fill out our
<https://forms.gle/bseH4evbB9QpGanW8> membership form to be added to our
Discord server or email list-serv.
We hope to help members
. connect with trans and nonbinary mentors in their subfield,
. gather information about trans and nonbinary health resources at
other institutions before moving,
. get help navigating visa application processes for conferences,
fieldwork, etc.,
. discuss changes we'd like to see in linguistics about how gender is
treated in research,
. publish community-approved sensitivity / accommodation guides for
departments,
. find trans and nonbinary community at the next conference they
attend,
. and more!
We welcome members from all areas of language research, including (but not
limited to!) Linguistics, Anthropology, Sociology, Media Studies, and
Literature, and of all kinds of affiliation with language research,
including students of all levels (both former and current), postdocs,
instructors, researchers, and faculty.
Please contact translinguistsassociation at gmail.com
<mailto:translinguistsassociation at gmail.com> if you have any questions
about becoming involved.
