Dear Colleagues,


We are delighted to invite you to submit an abstract for the 1st International Colloquium on Legal and Business Communication (ICLBC), which will be held online from 22 to 23 February 2025, hosted by the Austrian Association for Legal Linguistics (AALL).


The colloquium will focus on legal and business communication in hospitality contexts under the theme: "Language, Law and Communication in the Hospitality Industry"


We encourage critical submissions that address, but are not limited to, the following questions:

  *   How can effective communication strategies prevent legal issues in hospitality management?
  *
  *   How does language use impact legal compliance and crisis management in the hospitality industry?
  *
  *   What makes hospitality contracts clear and enforceable?
  *
  *   How can communication strategies improve legal responsibilities and risk management in the hospitality sector?

Abstract Guidelines

  *   Language: English
  *   Length: 200–250 words (excluding references and keywords)
  *   Keywords: 3–5
  *   References: 3–5 key sources
  *   Please include the names and affiliations of all authors.

Please send your abstracts to hospcommunication at gmail.com by 12 January 2025.


Notifications of acceptance or rejection will be sent by 20 January 2025.


We are excited to feature Professor Ursula Lutzky (Vienna University of Economics and Business) and Professor Stephen Barth (University of Houston) as keynote speakers.
