We cordially invite you to the guest lecture by Ora Matushansky next 
Thursday, 18:30 in the ÜR 5 of the Department of German studies:

Title: Counting measures (joint work with E.G. Ruys)

Abstract: In a number of languages (including German) measure nouns may 
fail to inflect for plurality or trigger plural agreement. We will 
demonstrate that the cause is syntactic rather than semantic, introduce 
and discuss the issue of conditioned agreement and appeal to 
individuation hierarchies in order to propose a mechanism accounting for 
this failure.
