Dear colleagues,

I am delighted to announce that this year Slavic Linguistics Society
(SLS) competitive graduate student award goes to a project carried out
within the International Joint Master Program in Cognitive Science
(Mei:CogSci) at the University of Vienna. Bartosz Brzoza won the award
with the paper “Suffix combinability in Polish: a psycholinguistic
study” (co-authored with the Mei:CogSci supervisor). The award amount is
500 $ and the paper will be presented at the Annual Meeting of the
Slavic Linguistics Society in Heidelberg, Sept. 4-6, 2015. The chair of
the SLS Executive Board, Prof. Anton Zimmerling, has already
congratulated Bartosz whose project on word-formation in Polish also
received a travel grant from the Undergraduate Linguistics Association
of Britain (ULAB) and a short visit grant from the European Science
Foundation (ESF).

Congratulations to Bartosz and all the best for his PhD studies in
linguistics at the University of Poznań!

The abstract of the winning paper is attached to this message.
