Hi,

I know that it's not that simple, but this sounds like Santa Claus writing a
letter to himself! :)

The size of the unzipped patch directory could be useful to determine whether
the needed space is available before extracting it. Not that important, and one
could get that information via "unzip -l", too. Just "nice to have".

Probably, yes. In the past there were patches for awk/grep or the like which
fixed problems when used with patchadd. These would have been candidates, too.
The patch cluster install script might provide more input as well.

Determining the latest rev would be easy, supporting multiple revs per patch in
PCA not. It would mean a lot of work, which I'm not too keen on :) The benefit
would be the possibility of new functionality: one could determine correct patch
requirements for patch xxxxxx-yy where yy is not the latest rev. This is not
possible right now.

Yes, that would be a severe drawback. One would have to think about compressing
the file. Anyway, I put that item at the end of my list for those very reasons :)

Martin.
