Keep in mind that pca's main intention is to identify those patches
which apply to a certain system, not to show patches which match a
certain criteria in the patchdiag.xref file.

pca does not use column #7 to match patches to the installed OS release,
as this information has proven to be unreliable in the past. Some
patches have been described as "Unbundled" although they applied to e.g.
Solaris 10. Therefore, pca uses the information about the included
packages instead (#9).

pca does use the archs column (#8), to determine whether a patch is e.g.
for sparc (including distinction for sun4u, sun4v, etc.) or i386. This
column also includes patch requirements. There's no command line option
for pca to show e.g. all patches for "sparc.sun4u".

If you really want to filter the list of all patches for certain
criteria, patchfinder might be the way to go anyway ..

Martin.
