Live upgrade with zfs definitely rocks; the main wart we've come across is
that with thousands of zfs filesystems mounted lu operations can take on
the order of *days* to complete :(. Sun as of yet still hasn't resolved
that issue, but fortunately there's a third party patch:

which really saved my bacon, taking lucreate execution time down from over
14 hours to 10 minutes...
