[pca] Odd problem - must have debug enabled to pull patchdiag.xref

OK folks, what am I doing wrong?:

$ /dss/bin/pca --version
pca 20091030-01
$ # fails without debug
$ /support/bin/pca --getxref --wget=/usr/local/bin --xrefdir=/tmp
Downloading xref file to /tmp/patchdiag.xref
Trying https://sunsolve.sun.com/ (1/10)
<failure text 2 thru 9 deleted>

I am going through a proxy server that does not require authentication.
