Hi Jamen,

It looks like you've hit CR 6826217:

6826217 patch_common_lib typo causes safemode sandbox not to be
populated correctly

There's no official patch released for this issue as of yet.
I'm looking for an IDR which would provide temporary relief and will
come back to you with the details if you're interested.

Could we see an `ls -l /` on one of the affected machines?

Thanks!
-Don

I am having trouble with this kernel patch and was wondering if some of
you could help me. I noticed in the PCA archives that some others were
having trouble with this patch as well, but my problem seems to be a
little different (I think). Here's my environment:

SunOS 5.10 Generic_120011-14 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V440

There are several patches that rely upon 127127-11, but since 127127-11
is not installed, none of these others get installed either. It doesn't
seem to be an issue with PCA itself - it does its job. It's something
with my server, but I'm not exactly sure what. When I try to run pca -i
127127-11, I get this:

(last few lines)

Checking installed patches...

Verifying sufficient filesystem capacity (dry run method)...

Installing patch packages...

Pkgadd failed. See /var/tmp/127127-11.log.10096 for details

Patchadd is terminating.

Failed (exit code 5)

The log files doesn't seem to help much - or at least it's cryptic and I
don't understand it. Here's the last few lines of the log:

ERROR: Command mount in safemode sandbox not found

usage: puttext [-r rmarg] [-l lmarg] string

pkgadd: ERROR: class action script did not complete successfully

Installation of <SUNW1394> failed.

Right now this is in multi-user mode and it appears that several users
are able to apply this patch in this mode and did not reboot in
single-user mode. I'm hoping this is something I can do in multi-user
mode since it's not really practical to reboot in single-user mode since
this server resides in another location. Anyway, if you have any ideas
or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
