Something else must have been involved. As you say, it's only the
ownership/permissions of the "xrefdir" which matters. Any path should work.

One thing I noticed in your previous message:

>> rtp-patchsvr$ ls /var/tmp/pca | grep 139569-01
>> 139569-01

Is this an unzipped version of the patch? The pca proxy will only
download, store and hand out compressed version of the patches as
delivered by SunSolve, usually in ZIP format. If you copied an already
extracted version of the patch to /var/tmp/pca, don't assume that the
pca proxy will use it.

A general advice when debugging problems with a pca proxy: Set "debug=1"
in /etc/pca-proxy.conf. The pca proxy will then write debug output to
/tmp/pca-proxy-debug.txt. If there are any problems with the CGI or
permissions, they will usually show up there.

Martin.
