[pca] no patches for several weeks

That's not good. Solaris keeps information about all installed packages 
in this directory, and it seems to be gone from your system. Without 
this information, you will never again be able to install any patch.

Is it possible that you (or someone else with the root password) has 
removed the contents of /var/sadm/pkg/, maybe to save space? Sometimes 
people mv the directory to some other place and put a symlink in place - 
this won't work.

Do you have backups, preferably recent, and after the last time when 
packages or patches were installed or removed on this system?

It's not the fault of the JDK, neither pca nor pkginfo use it.
