[pca] PCA not finding patches even with an account tied to a contract.

Well,

Martin, maybe something WAS broken yesterday.  I tried the patch suggestion you provided--

--and it successfully downloaded the patch as below.  I have had this issue off and on, as I remember it now, so you are probably right, something was just broken (again) at Sun.

Yes, something's broken. I get "403 Forbidden" for e.g. both these:

118825 -- < 02 --- 280 Obsoleted by: 138216-01 SunOS 5.10_x86: sort patch
138216 -- < 01 --- 108 SunOS 5.10_x86: sort patch

And my Sun Online Account does have a valid contract for sure. Sigh.
