I guess it's hard to find a solution that fits everyone. That's why I 
added a minimal logging ("date/time: patch X installed") to syslog, and 
leave the rest to wrappers, which can use pca's full output to choose 
what they want to log.

It's not that I didn't think about a fully configurable logging system 
for pca (different log levels and destinations, like syslog), but it 
looks like overkill for such a small tool.

BTW, you mentioned /var/sadm/spool/sunucLog - what does it look like?
