In the meantime I found out that the new function to detect partly 
installed patches doesn't work correctly in some cases, your example 
just being one of them. There is no workaround, as the patchdiag.xref 
file misses some crucial information for a correct diagnosis.

Therefore I've decided to remove the feature completely. I've published 
a new stable release (20080911-01) immediately to avoid further confusion.
