Me neither, but I'm pretty sure about two things:

Sun's OpenSolaris comes with a new packaging system (IPS), which is 
incompatible with the current (SysV) package and patch system (pkg* 
commands). Unbundled software (Sun Studio, etc.) might be provided in 
old-style packages, patch-handling for those will be as in Solaris.

Sun will not produce patches for OpenSolaris. To get a fix for 
OpenSolaris, you have to upgrade to the next build/release.
