For that matter, you can still run NFS client in single user if
you do not have enough local storage and need to place the patch
repository on a central server.

I will say this though, I have had far more problems with patches
failing and system instability when I've patched in multi-user
than I have when I have followed the recommendations any patched
in single-user.
