Hi Dago
The problem with vmksdpart would be that it can only create a limited #
of partitions.
I happen to have up to 20 volumes on the root disk.
Same with the live upgrade ...
it would be puting the content of the volumes on the / partition which
eventually will fill it up.
============================
I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to update:
Live upgrade will copy over only those slices you ask it to copy. Once
you split your root-disk mirror and u re-format ur rootmirror disk,
you can only mention which slices you want to include in the LU-Create command.
Please note that LU will not understand any and all FS which are vxfs,
so on your Root Disk, you have 2 slices which are UFS and 20 volumes
which are vxfs,
so do not include those 20 volumes, just include / and /var while
using the -m option. Once the disk has been created, patched, run
vxinstall, deport the old rootdg,
encapsulate the new boot-disk, create the missing volumes and copy
them over from the old-root-disk.
(vxdg -n old-rootdg deport rootdg, vxdg -Cf import old-rootdg, start
all volumes, fsck them and then mount it)
Hope this help.
