demokratiefeindliche und antisemitische Einstellungen und
Haltungen vor dem Zweiten Weltkrieg zu einer Staatsdoktrin
wurden, an deren Durchsetzung Millionen Menschen in
Deutschland und Österreich mitwirkten? Die
Film-Retrospektive 2012 fragt mit vier internationalen
Spielfilmen nach dem Verhalten, den Reaktionen und den
Entscheidungen jener Generationen, die die Jahre des
Nationalsozialismus prägten.Durch die sich radikalisierende
antijüdische Politik in Deutschland seit 1933 und in
Österreich seit März 1938 setzte sich auch in jenen Teilen
der Bevölkerung, die zuvor nicht durch antisemitische
Verhaltensweisen aufgefallen waren, ein manifester
Antisemitismus durch, der unter anderem zum außerordentlich
brutalen Novemberpogrom gegen die österreichisch-jüdische
Bevölkerung führte. </span></font></div>

Menschen, die sich - sei es aus christlicher oder
humanistischer Überzeugung - den judenfeindlichen Maßnahmen
entzogen und jüdischen Frauen und Männern halfen. </span></font></div>

font-size:10pt">Die Retrospektive beginnt mit dem
österreichischen Spielfilm AN UNS GLAUBT GOTT NICHT MEHR -
der die Situation und das Verhalten der Bevölkerung in Wien
1938 unmittelbar nach dem "Anschluß" zeigt. Eindringlich
werden die Überlebensnot der jüdischen Wienerinnen und
Wiener und das verzweifelte Bemühen um Auswanderung und
Flucht dargestellt. Der Film AFFÄRE BLUM setzt sich mit
antisemitischen Traditionen in einer Kleinstadt während der
Zwischenkriegszeit auseinander, und der französische
Spielfilm DAS GEHEIMNIS beginnt ebenfalls in der
Vorkriegszeit und schildert dann den Überlebenskampf einer
Pariser Familie aus der Erinnerung eines jungen Mannes. Mit
dem abschließenden Film DER DEUTSCHE FRÜHLING wird nach den
familiären und politischen Veränderungen 1938 in einem
österreichischen Dorf gefragt. Jeder steht vor der
individuellen Entscheidung, sich anzupassen oder Eigensinn
zu bewahren. </span></font></div>
